Follow these step-by-step instructions to learn how to use PayPal
A new page will open with an option to choose between a "Personal Account" or "Business Account" account. A personal account is all you need to buy online. Select the type of account, then click Continue.
You must now enter your name, email address and password. Once your information is added, click Next.
Then you will be asked to complete your contact information. This will also be your billing address and may also be the address to which you want the items delivered (although this is not mandatory if you buy something as a gift). Once you're done, click in the second box to confirm that you've read and understood the user agreement.
Please note that the top box should only be checked if you are on a computer in your own home and you are confident that no one will be able to access your account. If you have any doubts, leave it empty.
Click Accept and create an account
A new window will open with two options. The first choice is to start shopping with retailers who accept PayPal. The second is to send money to someone.
In this example, we focus on buying online using PayPal, click Start.
In the next window, you can add your credit or debit card.
When you shop or even donate to an online charity, you can use every time you see its logo. All you need to do is enter your email address and password to make a payment.
Using PayPal means you don't share any of your bank details with the seller - the only information they get comes. Payments are instantaneous, so there is no longer any waiting for goods to be shipped once a cheque has been cleared.
It also automatically offers PayPal buyer protection, which means you can make a claim to get your money back if the goods you paid for don't show up or if they don't match the description of the seller upon arrival.
If you sell something online via PayPal, you'll also need your email address and password. Check out our How to Sell guide on eBay for more information.
Once payment is made to your PayPal account, It will send you an email receipt. Return to the website and log in using your email address and password. You will see that you have been credited with the total amount minus transaction fees.
To transfer the payment to your bank account, click Transfer money. If you haven't added your bank details yet, click More.
If you clicked More, you'll see this window. Here you can check which bank account is allocated for transfers or add another account.
